It's cold, but here are some PICS!!!!!!!

So it's finally starting to feel like December. All it took was going into the minuses! It may be cold, but at least it's sunny. Hopefully I can pick up our tree tomorrow and start decorating!

Here are the long ago promised pictures of the cards I've made recently. I'm planning on moving into my craft room over the next week and hoping to spend lots of time down there so here's to more pics!
Let me know if you have any thoughts........................

Hmmm

Ok, so I didn't post any pics of Paris. Nor have I posted pics of any recent cards (which I've actually made). I'm hoping to do that this weekend as Gord's working nights. I usually tend to get more done when he's not here! Stay tuned......................... Now that I've changed my blog to a Christmas theme, guess I should get started on making some cards to send out! I'm also hoping to move into my craft room within the next week and I'm REALLY excited about that.

Ooh la la......... Paris!

Happy Birthday to you....

Here's a card I made for my cousin. She's quite into style and bling. I put stickles on the dress and shoes the girl's wearing to add a little "shine". Stamps by Elzybells and Amuse.

What to do?????

This is my 1/2 card done yesterday. The picture doesn't really do it justice. The "black" inner part of the flower is actually gray........... I'm going to try and get some gray ribbon to put on it but don't really know how to finish it. Any ideas?

Finally, card pics!

Ok, so here are the cards I made yestersay. Since I haven't posted anything in a while, I'll have to get Jessica to show me how to format everything so it looks normal! BUT, I didn't want to wait to post pics so this is what you get! Stamps are by Impress, Amuse and SU. Bling is Amuse. Any thoughts?

6 1/2 cards..............

I spent alot of last night looking at blogs and websites trying to get motivated. Seems it may have worked. I made 6 1/2 cards today! Of course it took me all night... There is still one I'm trying to figure out how to finish. I'll post pics tomorrow as I'm too tired now.

What? It's only been 5 months................

Ok, so I haven't posted in quite some time. Oops! Alot has happened in that time. I became an Aunt for the 3rd time (Thea Dodge Boguski was born May 25th) and found out I'll be an Aunt for a 4th time in November (another Kiwi baby!).

I did alot of training for the Ride to Conquer Cancer (Vancouver to Seattle on a BIKE!) which I completed the WHOLE THING and would like to thank everyone who sponsored me. It was such a great experience I've signed up for next year (guess I should get back to training).

I've applied to be a volunteer with the local police department (still waiting for the security to go through). Those classes should hopefully be starting soon. It's was a very HOT summer without much rain which is very unusual for Vancouver.

AND......... Gord and I went to Paris a couple weeks ago! It's an AMAZING city. We were in Paris for 7 days then went to visit my cousin in Aix-en-Provence in the south! It's sooooo different than Paris. Very warm and beautiful. I'm still going through my pictures but will try and post a couple when I've thinned them out!

Speaking of warm, it's September 25 (Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away) and it's STILL summer like weather! I can only imagine what our winter will be like............................................

One thing I HAVEN'T done much of is crafting.................................. I just haven't been able to motivate myself. I've been looking at different blogs and SCS to get ideas. It's now after 10:00pm (my usual crafting start time) so I think I'll try to get something done. Wish me luck!

A couple cards

Here are a couple cards I've made in the last little while...... Also, my second Bumper card (middle one)! I have a whole bunch of new stamps but haven't gotten around to making anything yet. Hopefully I'll have some of those to post in a short while!
Any thoughts on the "Boler" card???????? (one with the trailer).
All stamps by Amuse.

The box has arrived!

I've just got the news that my Stampin' Up order has arrived! I'm heading to Jessica's tomorrow to craft with her and Carrie and my new stuff! I can't even really remember what I got so it'll be a nice surprise. I'll definately be able to post some new pics in the next couple of days. Ooh, another thing... I received my Bumper card! I have to say that I love being part of it. It's so nice to come home to something other than a bill! I'll post a pic of that when I post the others.....

Stampin' Up party = $$ spent

I don't have any pics yet, but I had my Stampin' Up party today. Carrie did a great job as demonstrator, you can tell by the amount of $$ I spent! Of course Jessica, as usual, helped me out with my choices. Hmmm, maybe that's a bad thing...

I'll post pics as soon as I can!

What do you think?

Here's a card I made last night... What do you think? I used the "burnished velvet" technique to add bling and finished it off with matching stickles. Stamp by Memory Box.

On another note............. Bumper cards are back! Here's the one I received last time. I LOVE it (and it came with bonus stamps, a very unexpected gift!) Check it out if you'd like to join.

More pics.....

I've been sick for the last 4 days, BUT, I was able to get some cards made (between naps!). To raise money for my ride, I decided to sell some cards. My sister, who lives in New Zealand, has been so supportive of my fundraising that she asked me to send some to her and she'd help sell! Here's what I got done.....

Pretty impressive eh? Maybe I should get sick more often! I have a couple other designs I'm thinking of so we'll see what happens.

Fundraising event for "The Ride" (and pics!)

I've gotten some flack recently from certain people (you know who you are!) for not posting any new card pics for a while, well, you can leave me alone for a bit, here they are!

I've been busy training for The Ride to Conquer Cancer and was thinking of ways to raise donations. I've decided one way is to sell cards. I'm trying to make "easy" ones that I can mass produce. Here is a sample of what I've come up with....

I'll be selling them $3.00 each or 4 for $10.00 with ALL proceeds going to Cancer Research. If you're interested in buying any you can contact me at lboguski@lycos.com or post a comment on this post. Please pass this on to everyone you know as I'm still looking for donations. Thanks!

I saw the card with butterflies on Tobi's website and fell in love with it! It's so cheerful and full of colour, I just had to try it.

If you have any feedback I'd appreciate it as I'd like to know if I'm moving in the right direction.
On another note.... I rode my bike OUTSIDE today for the first time since training for the ride. It was great, other than the SNOW! (I think I'm more ready than ever to see summer arrive). I went with another girl who's also signed up for the ride. It was a short ride (due to cold and snow) but was a good starting point. With the clocks going forward it will make getting out alot easier since weeknight rides are more of a possibility.
I'm going to get started on cards and will post another selection as soon as I can!

Oops, haven't posted in a while........

Oops, it's been about a month since I last posted! I think that's the longest I've gone since starting this. I've been busy training for The Ride to Conquer Cancer. I've logged 100km during 7 indoor rides and I'm slowly getting into it. It's still pretty overwhelming, especially since I'll be riding more than that each day! I have a personal page on the website for the Ride, check it out and don't forget to sponsor me! It's all going to a great cause.

On a crafty note... I received my Bumper Card today!!!!!! I haven't taken a picture of it yet but I LOVE it! With my card I received 2 stamps as well, thanks Cheiron, way too kind! I think it's just what I needed to get me inspired. I'm also thinking of making some cards to sell as a fundraiser for my ride. I think I even have a bike stamp. I'll hopefully post some pics in the next couple days so let me know if you're interested.

The Biggest Challenge of my LIFE!

Ok, so the title of this post could pertain to:

A) Keeping up with Jessica's crafting
B) Not spend ANY $ on crafting supplies in a month
or
C) Participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer

As hard as the first 2 challenges would be, it's C........ Riding my bike 200+ km from Vancouver to Seattle raising money for cancer. What the heck am I thinking?!?!?! Let's put it this way... I bought a mountain bike about 4 years ago and rode it around the block ONCE! In 4 years! In doing this ride, I'm challenging myself not only physically but mentally as well. I wanted to get in shape and figured I needed a goal. Well, this is quite the goal!

I'm required to raise a minimum $2500.00 to participate in this event and this is where I'd like to ask for YOUR help... Please visit my webpage to check in on my progress and to sponsor my ride. Help us beat this devastating disease that has touched so many. I'm grateful for anything you can give as every little bit helps!

Thanks in advance for your support.

Argh and YAY!

I'm thinking I need another tutorial in blogging from Jessica. I think I'm starting to record my own visits again! HELP! As much as I LOVE thinking I'm popular, I don't think it's for real. Sooo, Jess, if you're out there, you're needed. Carrie, you in?

On another note, today was the day... Obama became President! I wasn't able to watch the inauguration (had to work), but I did stay home long enough to watch him being announced. That in itself was emotional, and I'm CANADIAN! If only WE had a leader that was so inspirational. I think it's great not only for the U.S., but the world..... GOODBYE Bush, it's about time! YAY for Obama!!!

Sugar overload.....

First of all, I hope everyone notices that this is my 3rd post of the day! I'm still having some trouble with it, so it's pretty much taken me all day... ANYWAY, my last post was about blog candy and so is this one! Check out Jessica's giveaway, cool stuff! I especially love the chipboard and have promised I'll actually use it if I win. Congrats on her blogaversary and getting 7809 hits (I updated for you!).

MAJOR blog candy!

Check out Jen's blog for a chance to win BIG!!!! I can't even list all the stuff that's up for grabs... I've made a few cards that the Dallas Baptist University can give to their international students. Here they are.........

Check out the blog mentioned above to find out more about how YOU can send some of your cards along and brighten someones day!

Yay, new pics!

I haven't posted any pics of new cards in a while.... Here we go! The first one is made with these new Inkadinkado clear stamps. Which I LOVE! The Owl card seems to be missing something... not sure what. A sentiment? Ribbon? Embellishment? The bird (LOVE it) could be used for anything. I don't think I'd put anything else on the front, maybe a sentiment inside. I do think some "bling" may add something. I'll have to look into that later.

The next two cards are for birthdays (which are ALWAYS needed!). I used my new scallop edge punch from Stampin' Up, added some texture with Stickles (as with the owl card above), rounded the corners of the card, added ribbon (which I don't use enough of!), added a sentiment and voila! Done. The flower wheelbarrow is pretty self explanatory using my Marvy oval punches and using MORE ribbon!

I still haven't made my Winter Thank-you cards, maybe today??? We'll see how the day progresses!

Winter Thank-you's...

I'm sure that with the title of this post you'll think I have cards to show... I DO, but I'll be posting them later. I have an etiquette question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I was wanting to send some Thank-you cards out to patients (and others!) that showered me with gifts this Christmas. What is the appropriate time-frame for sending these out? If anyone could help me with this I'd be most appreciative! Oh, and watch for a posting with some pics coming soon.

Christmas is over.

I decided I'd change the look of my blog to reflect the weather we still have... Christmas is over and as much as I liked having a white one, IT CAN GO AWAY NOW. It's supposed to rain LOTS over the next couple of days, so that should make things interesting. Of course it was also supposed to rain yesterday and instead we got over 10 inches of new snow! Lucky me got to shovel again............. You'll know when our snow is completely gone when I change my background!

I was going to craft all weekend and didn't (I'll blame the snow?!). I'm going to put the computer down now and go make something. Wish me luck!

New Year, old cards..........

Since I haven't made any new cards lately, I thought I'd post a few pics of cards I made in 2008! The first one is a card I made for good friends of ours in New Brunswick. They LOVE Key West and go every year. As soon as I saw the Adirondack chair with the wreath I though of them!

The second one is for the same friends. We all met through a group that all have Boler trailers... This was for their going away party. They drove their van and trailer from Vancouver to New Brunswick! I popped the trailer to add a little something extra.

The next couple are invites and Thank-you cards I made for Grant's 1st birthday. You can probably guess it was a Cowboys and Indians theme!

.

Not sure how this will look when I post, but at least I posted something! I'm hoping to get over to Jessica's soon so I can pick up my Just Rite stamps that she's had for quite some time! If I do get over there, I'll make sure to take my laptop so she can "upgrade" my blogging skills!
