The Biggest Challenge of my LIFE!

Ok, so the title of this post could pertain to:

A) Keeping up with Jessica's crafting
B) Not spend ANY $ on crafting supplies in a month
or
C) Participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer

As hard as the first 2 challenges would be, it's C........ Riding my bike 200+ km from Vancouver to Seattle raising money for cancer. What the heck am I thinking?!?!?! Let's put it this way... I bought a mountain bike about 4 years ago and rode it around the block ONCE! In 4 years! In doing this ride, I'm challenging myself not only physically but mentally as well. I wanted to get in shape and figured I needed a goal. Well, this is quite the goal!

I'm required to raise a minimum $2500.00 to participate in this event and this is where I'd like to ask for YOUR help... Please visit my webpage to check in on my progress and to sponsor my ride. Help us beat this devastating disease that has touched so many. I'm grateful for anything you can give as every little bit helps!

Thanks in advance for your support.

Argh and YAY!

I'm thinking I need another tutorial in blogging from Jessica. I think I'm starting to record my own visits again! HELP! As much as I LOVE thinking I'm popular, I don't think it's for real. Sooo, Jess, if you're out there, you're needed. Carrie, you in?

On another note, today was the day... Obama became President! I wasn't able to watch the inauguration (had to work), but I did stay home long enough to watch him being announced. That in itself was emotional, and I'm CANADIAN! If only WE had a leader that was so inspirational. I think it's great not only for the U.S., but the world..... GOODBYE Bush, it's about time! YAY for Obama!!!

Sugar overload.....

First of all, I hope everyone notices that this is my 3rd post of the day! I'm still having some trouble with it, so it's pretty much taken me all day... ANYWAY, my last post was about blog candy and so is this one! Check out Jessica's giveaway, cool stuff! I especially love the chipboard and have promised I'll actually use it if I win. Congrats on her blogaversary and getting 7809 hits (I updated for you!).

MAJOR blog candy!

Check out Jen's blog for a chance to win BIG!!!! I can't even list all the stuff that's up for grabs... I've made a few cards that the Dallas Baptist University can give to their international students. Here they are.........

Check out the blog mentioned above to find out more about how YOU can send some of your cards along and brighten someones day!

Yay, new pics!

I haven't posted any pics of new cards in a while.... Here we go! The first one is made with these new Inkadinkado clear stamps. Which I LOVE! The Owl card seems to be missing something... not sure what. A sentiment? Ribbon? Embellishment? The bird (LOVE it) could be used for anything. I don't think I'd put anything else on the front, maybe a sentiment inside. I do think some "bling" may add something. I'll have to look into that later.

The next two cards are for birthdays (which are ALWAYS needed!). I used my new scallop edge punch from Stampin' Up, added some texture with Stickles (as with the owl card above), rounded the corners of the card, added ribbon (which I don't use enough of!), added a sentiment and voila! Done. The flower wheelbarrow is pretty self explanatory using my Marvy oval punches and using MORE ribbon!

I still haven't made my Winter Thank-you cards, maybe today??? We'll see how the day progresses!

Winter Thank-you's...

I'm sure that with the title of this post you'll think I have cards to show... I DO, but I'll be posting them later. I have an etiquette question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I was wanting to send some Thank-you cards out to patients (and others!) that showered me with gifts this Christmas. What is the appropriate time-frame for sending these out? If anyone could help me with this I'd be most appreciative! Oh, and watch for a posting with some pics coming soon.

Christmas is over.

I decided I'd change the look of my blog to reflect the weather we still have... Christmas is over and as much as I liked having a white one, IT CAN GO AWAY NOW. It's supposed to rain LOTS over the next couple of days, so that should make things interesting. Of course it was also supposed to rain yesterday and instead we got over 10 inches of new snow! Lucky me got to shovel again............. You'll know when our snow is completely gone when I change my background!

I was going to craft all weekend and didn't (I'll blame the snow?!). I'm going to put the computer down now and go make something. Wish me luck!

New Year, old cards..........

Since I haven't made any new cards lately, I thought I'd post a few pics of cards I made in 2008! The first one is a card I made for good friends of ours in New Brunswick. They LOVE Key West and go every year. As soon as I saw the Adirondack chair with the wreath I though of them!

The second one is for the same friends. We all met through a group that all have Boler trailers... This was for their going away party. They drove their van and trailer from Vancouver to New Brunswick! I popped the trailer to add a little something extra.

The next couple are invites and Thank-you cards I made for Grant's 1st birthday. You can probably guess it was a Cowboys and Indians theme!

.

Not sure how this will look when I post, but at least I posted something! I'm hoping to get over to Jessica's soon so I can pick up my Just Rite stamps that she's had for quite some time! If I do get over there, I'll make sure to take my laptop so she can "upgrade" my blogging skills!
