Fundraising event for "The Ride" (and pics!)

I've gotten some flack recently from certain people (you know who you are!) for not posting any new card pics for a while, well, you can leave me alone for a bit, here they are!

I've been busy training for The Ride to Conquer Cancer and was thinking of ways to raise donations. I've decided one way is to sell cards. I'm trying to make "easy" ones that I can mass produce. Here is a sample of what I've come up with....

I'll be selling them $3.00 each or 4 for $10.00 with ALL proceeds going to Cancer Research. If you're interested in buying any you can contact me at lboguski@lycos.com or post a comment on this post. Please pass this on to everyone you know as I'm still looking for donations. Thanks!

I saw the card with butterflies on Tobi's website and fell in love with it! It's so cheerful and full of colour, I just had to try it.

If you have any feedback I'd appreciate it as I'd like to know if I'm moving in the right direction.
On another note.... I rode my bike OUTSIDE today for the first time since training for the ride. It was great, other than the SNOW! (I think I'm more ready than ever to see summer arrive). I went with another girl who's also signed up for the ride. It was a short ride (due to cold and snow) but was a good starting point. With the clocks going forward it will make getting out alot easier since weeknight rides are more of a possibility.
I'm going to get started on cards and will post another selection as soon as I can!

Oops, haven't posted in a while........

Oops, it's been about a month since I last posted! I think that's the longest I've gone since starting this. I've been busy training for The Ride to Conquer Cancer. I've logged 100km during 7 indoor rides and I'm slowly getting into it. It's still pretty overwhelming, especially since I'll be riding more than that each day! I have a personal page on the website for the Ride, check it out and don't forget to sponsor me! It's all going to a great cause.

On a crafty note... I received my Bumper Card today!!!!!! I haven't taken a picture of it yet but I LOVE it! With my card I received 2 stamps as well, thanks Cheiron, way too kind! I think it's just what I needed to get me inspired. I'm also thinking of making some cards to sell as a fundraiser for my ride. I think I even have a bike stamp. I'll hopefully post some pics in the next couple days so let me know if you're interested.

The Biggest Challenge of my LIFE!

Ok, so the title of this post could pertain to:

A) Keeping up with Jessica's crafting
B) Not spend ANY $ on crafting supplies in a month
or
C) Participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer

As hard as the first 2 challenges would be, it's C........ Riding my bike 200+ km from Vancouver to Seattle raising money for cancer. What the heck am I thinking?!?!?! Let's put it this way... I bought a mountain bike about 4 years ago and rode it around the block ONCE! In 4 years! In doing this ride, I'm challenging myself not only physically but mentally as well. I wanted to get in shape and figured I needed a goal. Well, this is quite the goal!

I'm required to raise a minimum $2500.00 to participate in this event and this is where I'd like to ask for YOUR help... Please visit my webpage to check in on my progress and to sponsor my ride. Help us beat this devastating disease that has touched so many. I'm grateful for anything you can give as every little bit helps!

Thanks in advance for your support.

Argh and YAY!

I'm thinking I need another tutorial in blogging from Jessica. I think I'm starting to record my own visits again! HELP! As much as I LOVE thinking I'm popular, I don't think it's for real. Sooo, Jess, if you're out there, you're needed. Carrie, you in?

On another note, today was the day... Obama became President! I wasn't able to watch the inauguration (had to work), but I did stay home long enough to watch him being announced. That in itself was emotional, and I'm CANADIAN! If only WE had a leader that was so inspirational. I think it's great not only for the U.S., but the world..... GOODBYE Bush, it's about time! YAY for Obama!!!
